Xchange update

Very excited about Xchange - I have had 3 cards back from Holland, the last just 2 days ago and the best response yet. Just the sort of interaction I was hoping for. Check out the image! Fantastic whoever you are! It's interesting that two of the three respondants haven't left their names and none have given me a return email or got in touch via the websites. Tonight at Milkwood Gallery in Cardiff you can see some of the cards from Holland and also pick up a 'live' one too. By the end of today I should have approxaimately 60 in circulation. That's 50 stamped addressed cards which may end up finding their way back to me. If you look at the Amsterdam launch post pics you'll see some of the places I am leaving them. There are now a bunch of cards at various Cardiff and Newport locations as well as other places I go.

For the Milkwood group exhibition "Made in Spring" I will eventually have created over 40 with the gallery address on them so that if folks do take up the challenge and post them back they'll be sending them direct to a 'live' exhibition and the cards will be displayed during the show's run.

New project called X:change

I am launching my new project this weekend. It's called X:change - a postcard based project launched in Amsterdam in March 2011. Cards will be left in random places and those finding them will find the cards stamp-addressed back to the artist but otherwise blank apart from some which have an image on the cover. The outcomes are unknown to both artist and participant. The project explores my interest in shared agency, authorship and dialogue between the artist and the public. Watch out for X:change cards in Cardiff and elswhere soon.

An image from the 'stuck' exhibition at Milkwood last October - better late than never! More to follow when i work out how to post up more than one at a time.

new work

I'm going to be trying out a new idea soon, here's a little visual tester - not sure whether the picture will scan the way i want it to. Its taken from a chidrens activity book. I'll explain the plan soon - but its a mail art type project. I hope to "launch" this at the weekend on a trip to Amsterdam - we'll see how that goes.
